Custom work is at the heart of Ithaca Stringed Instruments. Every instrument is handcrafted by Eric Aceto, who works closely with each client to bring their vision to life—from peghead carvings and decorative inlays to entirely new hybrid designs. Whether it’s a reinterpretation of a traditional instrument or something completely original, Eric creates pieces that are visually distinctive and tailored to the unique style and needs of each musician.

Each custom project is a true partnership between builder and player. From the roaring 10-string octave mandolin built for Stuart Allen to the resophonic-meets-banjo “Do-Jo” created for Andrew Farnsworth, our instruments are made with character, precision, and a deep respect for musical expression.
